Calling this place a gym is a bit like calling St Paul’s a church: accurate in a sense but it just fails to capture the sheer power of the building and its incredible architecture. When you work out in this absolutely stunning building, it feels as if you’re in a sacred shrine to the human body, that the elegance of the art is a testament to what you could become with enough work and passion. That might seem wordy or pretentious, but try it before you judge: many an unbeliever has walked out of this place an absolute zealot.
Beautiful building aside, Equinox is a top end gym in all other respects too. It has some of the best trainers in the city, all of whom are happy to customise workouts and routines to suit your exact needs. The entire place is clean and inviting, and staff are always keen to make you feel welcome. If the sweaty halls of a traditional gym have long seemed intimidating to you, this might be exactly what you need. Be aware though, membership is not cheap, coming in at over 2k per year. If you have the money though, it’s well worth it.
