The first thing that hits you about this place is the view. On a sunny summer’s evening, there’s nothing like taking in the sights of the city from this excellent vantage point, drinking in a super cocktail and watching the world go by. You’d be forgiven for going just for that, it’s a rare sight and one that everyone should see once. Whether you’re a Londoner or a visitor, the chance to see the city from above is unmissable.
We’re less crazy about some of the other aspects, truth be told. It’s unnecessarily formal, to the extent that you’ll often feel a little awkward sitting there. After all, it’s 2015. This isn’t the time for these things. The world has changed, and it’s like taking a step back in time when you emerge on the terrace and find that it’s guarded by one of those dreaded managers with a clipboard, telling you where to sit.
Drinks are solid, service is otherwise fairly good and there’s a decent selection of food. If you can ignore the irritating start, it’s an ideal spot for an atmospheric drink. Trust us, the view is worth it.
