The Rosewood is something of an oddity amongst 5* hotels. Although it offers finery and sophistication, it is considerably more subtle than its rivals. Don’t expect to see wall to wall velvet and dark wood here! Instead, there’s a pleasant mix of romance and whimsy, a pristine shrine to the more gentle aspects of luxury in a beautiful location. Everything is understated, though clearly well made and well maintained. It’s the sort of top end accommodation that will suit those that loathe the ostentatious.
The priority seems to be on privacy and intimacy here, which makes it an ideal place for couples. The walls are thick, the staff discreet and the atmosphere decidedly amorous. If your night time activities work out an appetite, you’ll be glad to hear that they also serve a stunning breakfast, although you’ll want to get there early to avoid wait times. It does seem as if every department is just a little understaffed at times, although those working there certainly give their all in an effort to make up for it so we can’t be too cruel. Our advice is to arrive, eat and leave early, and you’ll be able to enjoy the superb service with no downsides.
